Regardless of the nature of your business or project, learning to automate some of the processes is critical to focus all of your energy on the right tasks.

I have personally used all of the resources listed below. They have been a life saver for me and have helped me get to where I am today. That’s why I recommend them here. I truly believe they will be of assistance to you as well.

Getting Started

First things first. Whether you want to launch for first website or feel the need to take things to the next level, it’s always important to start by building a solid foundation.

If you’re taking your business seriously, you need to step away from free hosted sites. I have personally used BlueHost for the past several years, and completely rely on them not just for this site but other ventures I have. You can get your hosting for as little as $3.99/month.

Just like having your own hosting space is important, so is getting your own domain. It will look more professional and reliable than having something like You can get yours for as little as $1.

Build your list from day one. If you can’t afford a paid mailing list like Convertkit, Mailchimp is the solution for you. You can have up to 2,000 subscribers for free and then sign up for their paid services.

Once ready to take things to the next step, I recommend using Converkit. I personally think it’s the best mailing list software out there. You can personalize it and automate it to reach different segments within your audience.

But, how do you reach those potential subscribers and encourage them to sign up to your mailing list? That’s where ThriveLeads comes into play. Create a lead magnet, and let ThriveLead’s visually attractive designs work its magic.

If you’re looking for an affordable template for your website, then ThemeForest is your answer. The site comes with hundreds of different layouts to suit everyone’s needs and styles. I’ve used their templates numerous times for other projects and highly recommend them.

Unleash your creativity

What would I do without Canva? I don’t have the best graphic design skills, but using this wonderful tool has allowed me to create different graphics thanks to the numerous templates it provides. There’s a free version with a myriad of designs you can use.

If you’re rebranding your company or need assistance developing visually appealing graphics, logos, or templates for your business, 99Designs is the best tool for you.

While I still haven’t recorded any videos for this page, it is something I regularly do for some of my Spanish pages. ScreenFlow is my go-to tool for video recording, especially if it’s for a tutorial where I need to show my computer screen.

I am an amateur photographer, and normally use my own photographs to showcase my work. But, when in need, Shutterstock has proven to be my best stock photography site. I have partnered with them in the past and they’ve always been excellent allowing me to use their stock photos.

Everyday life savers

One of the most popular apps to keep note of your thoughts, to-do lists and so much more. I use it on a daily basis for reminders, or whenever an idea pops up in my head and I don’t want to forget about it. You can either use the phone app or desktop version.

If you need storage space on the cloud to share your documents, Dropbox is one of the best options out there. The basic plan comes with 2GB of FREE storage space that you can extend with the pro version. You can also refer Dropbox to a friend and get up to 16GB for free.

One of the most difficult things to do when juggling multiple tasks is staying on top of your social media calendar. Well, MeetEdgar can help you with just that. It’s a very easy-to-use tool that will allow you to share and re-share your website’s content on to the different platforms.

While more basic than MeetEdgar, Hootsuite offers free options for those starting out and needing some help with scheduling their social media content. Hootsuite seamlessly integrates your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to post and share your content.

Make paying your vendors or receiving payments from your clients easy as 1-2-3. With Paypal all it takes is a click, and you’re set! I use this tool every day with my clients.

I could not live without Trello. I use it every day with my clients. It allows me to stay focused with my day-to-day tasks as well as to prioritize and assign projects to different people within teams.

If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed with the load of work you have, you can always outsource it. I’ve been using Fiverr for several years now to help me with some of my administrative tasks. It sometimes feels like finding a needle in a haystack, but there are very talented people there.
